Obituary of Austin James Whitman

Austin James Whitman, age 80, a resident of Talbott Personal Care in Belington and a former resident of Hickory Corner Rd. Philippi, passed away November 24, 2019 in the Davis Medical Center in Elkins.  Austin was born November 18, 1939 in Willington, Conn. a son of the late Bert and Sarah (Griggs) Whitman.  Austin was united in marriage on May 8, 1982 to Germaine (Plouffe) Whitman who survives in Crossroads, TX.  Also surviving

Austin was preceded in death by sons, Mark Tetreault, and George Whitman

Austin worked as landscaper for the University of Conn.  He enjoyed attending auctions, listening to Hank William and especially Blue Grass Music.  Austin was a member of the Philippi Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday December 1, from 9- 11am.  In honor of Austin’s request cremation will follow.
