Some people seek the mantle of leadership while others have leadership thrust upon them. Whichever was the case, “Super Bill” (as I would call him, with the utmost respect and admiration) was the leader the education system of Barbour County needed, when it needed him. No matter the distances his career led him, he never strayed far from his Barbour County roots. Never presumptuous or verbose, Bill led by example. There are monuments across Barbour County to Bill’s leadership. There will never, can never, be another because that mold was broken ages ago. Rest in the bosom of Christ, “Super Bill.” And may Perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, Rest In Peace!
